To succeed, you must give people what they want and the way they expect it. The Internet is the primary form of communication today and that means a web site is essential. When well designed, it serves as an interactive brochure directly placed into the hands of your customer. At the very least, to not have one opens the door for your competition to appear much more in tune with what your customer wants and expects.  It would be like running your business with no phone.
